Let’s chat about outerwear, Queens. Here in Pittsburgh, we could be reaching for ours as early as September. In autumn I lean toward light weight, knee length trench coats and leather jackets. In the winter, I pair wool coats with leather gloves and berets. For a casual vibe, layer hoodies under coats. In my opinion, nobody does casual chill better than Alexx Coll.
When I think of knit wear, I envision Zara models in chunky sweaters (jumpers for you Brits). Basics should make up 80% of your wardrobe. In the colder months, my knit tops are a staple. To add some charm I adore them pinned with fancy brooches. They are equally chic paired with a simple wool beret and statement sunglasses. Pleated skirts, leather pants, or skinny jeans complete the look and leave you feeling polished and put together. Check out Zara, H&M, JCrew, and Vici for the latest staple knit wear!
Have you ever put thoughtful effort into your appearance only to be asked, “where are you going?” It’s the journey, NOT the destination! Am I right, Queens?
My point is, who cares where I’m going. I’m putting my best foot (face…& outfit…shoes…hair….lashes & handbag) forward. I’m a big fond fan of getting dolled up! #FancyQueen
My process for putting together the perfect look is simple. Show up & show out! Check out my Pinterest board The Total Look for inspiration on creating your vibe through attire, hair, make-up, and accessories.

My man’s rocking:
Nails did, hair did, everything BIG!
Finding the right pair of jeans for your body can be a treacherously long and winding road. Finding denim that easily pulls over my thighs and hugs my waist has been a struggle, until Khloe Kardashian and GOOD AMERICAN came along! For the record I am 5’7” and have an athletic/curvy build with powerful quads and hamstrings. These jeans skim your curves without restricting movement. They are extremely slimming and include ultra high rises. In addition to GA, I fancy Mother denim. In my opinion, these brands balance stretch while maintaining their shape. As for my favorite style of denim, nothing makes me feel more fierce than flares. Some will say they are back in style, but if you ask me they never left, love!
Wake up! Time to put on your make-up! I’m a big fond fan of girly stuff, shocker. Growing up in a family dominated by females gave me exposure to the glam life from an early age. My sisters and I adored playing with my mom’s Clinique eye shadow palettes, coral lipsticks, and bright pink blushes. We each had a stash of ‘play make-up’ to fill up a Caboodle. And why shouldn’t we, our favorite past time was getting dolled up and strutting our stuff down a pretend cat walk while our Nana (the MC on the mic) would describe our elaborate costumes, hair and make-up.
My friendships are very important to me, so I make sure to book Girls Nights Out at least once a month. These outings entail three coats of mascara, liquid lipstick, gin & tonics and lots of laughs. Tonight we are putting the babies to bed and hitting up Napa Prime Chop House & Cigar Bar!
Getting gussied up is one of my favorite things to do. I’m here for big hair, big lashes and a fresh manicure. The amount of time it can take to get ready for a GNO is limitless. One would think I’m prepping for the Grammy’s. I enjoy every minute of the process! Love Pinterest, who doesn’t? Click here to check out my board created specifically for outfit inspiration.
If you grew up in the 90’s, this post is for you. I’m a big fond fan of Dr Martens and flannel. When 90’s fashion came back on the scene, I was blasting Lithium on SiriusXM. In this volume of Fancy Feet, it feels only right that my Gucci combat boots take center stage. The Gucci fashion house can be…over the top for some, but for this diva they are just right. Am I right or am I right?
